The Front Door
R.C.C. has two identical worship services at 9:30 and 11:00 AM on Sunday mornings. Grab a free cup of coffee in the Grand Foyer and relax a moment. Expect to be warmly greeted at the door and assistance is always available by our Care Ministry team if someone would like to have their children participate in our children’s ministry. We also have a very safe, secure, and well staffed nursery for babies. Of course children are welcome to stay with parents during our worship services.
The Music
R.C.C. is unapologetically upbeat and lively. Music is lead by our worship pastor Ben Moore and the band we lovingly call the Duct Tape Band. The name of the band already gives you a clue that we take worshipping God seriously but we do not take ourselves seriously. We are here only to help people worship the Lord. We usually play songs a person might hear on a Christian radio station and occasionally play a hymn or two from the past.
The Lord’s Supper
Followers of Jesus have participated in the Lord’s Supper since he resurrected from the grave. Jesus asked us to do this to remember Him. We participate in this sacrament because we desire Him not because we have to. At some point in the worship service, a church leader gets up, gives a thought, and maybe reads a verse from the Bible and prays for us as we enter into a time of personal yet corporate worship. For the next few minutes, men, youth, and sometimes women pass trays of crackers and cups of juice that represent Jesus. We encourage anyone who wants to participate in communion to join in. The trays are passed and a person may hold the cracker and cup of juice and take them when they are ready or take them immediately and replace the empty cup back to the tray. Offering plates are soon passed and church members are encouraged to give back to the Lord a portion of what he has blessed them with. Guests are not required to give, we are just glad you’re here!!
The Preaching
Our preaching is lively, humorous, and usually relevant. The goal of preaching is discover timeless principles found in the Scriptures and apply them to our lives. The Bible tells us God’s Word is living and active and it is primarily how God speaks to us today. Preaching should always be understandable in everyday language and relevant to our lives, connecting God to us, and listening to what He has to say. Our preacher often uses videos, media, and sometimes props to illustrate what God has to say to us.
Children’s Ministry
There is a place for everyone at R.C.C., babies to High School Seniors has a class to attend. Children up to 6th grade have a 2 ½ hour program they may participate in that begins at 9:30 and goes until noon. Parents are encouraged to attend a worship service at either time and enjoy a small group during the other hour. Adults enjoy a ½ hour break from 10:30 to 11:00 AM with coffee and friendships. Of course parents are permitted to have their children enter or leave the children’s ministry at any time during the 2 ½ hour program.
